The Michigan Daily is the largest publication at the University of Michigan and where I worked during part of my college career. They would distribute rate guides every fall and summer and distribute them to all of the local businesses to promote local companies to buy advertising space in the newspaper.
Here is a rate guide that I created for them and it was a large challenge in complexity. The members of the newspaper wanted a full color booklet but had a strict budget and kept decreasing the number of pages that I could work with. So, while the end result was far more cluttered than I would have previously hoped for, it was a wonderful lesson in working with large amounts of information in a very small amount of space.
Here is one of the most condensed and complex pages of the booklet. While it is not my ideal design (and I would redesign it today if asked), it was a great lesson and exercise in how to layout a large amount of information in a small amount of real-estate.
Here are additional examples of spreads in the booklet.
